Recreation Has Value for Everyone
Recreation plays a valuable role in our lives. Getting outdoors and having fun are not luxuries; they are a necessary part of life. The benefits of recreation include physical fitness, good health, self-worth, joy,
friendship and an appreciation for the environment. Playing outdoors enhances our lives through increased enjoyment and learning.
For people with disabilities, these benefits are equally
important. Positive recreational experiences can be life changing. How does a family continue to grow and enjoy recreation when a family member has a developmental disability?
This presentation will share John’s story of being an active participant in his family’s recreation.
